Master of Science in Sports Business
Master of Science in Sports Business requires completion of 30 semester units.
The graduate level program, Master of Science in Sports Business, is intended to provide advanced study for academic growth and development in the education and management of sport-related fields of interest. This is acccomplished by building on foundation core courses from undergraduate study, emphasizing the physical performance of the discipline, and applying the foundational theory to the practical application in the industry of sports.
Doctoral Degree Courses
Doctor of Sports Management requires completion of 40 semester units.
The graduate sport management program was founded in response to a growing demand for better-qualified managers and administrators in professional and amateur sports. The course work provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of sport management intended to provide a thorough foundation in business and sport while allowing flexibility for students to explore a wide variety of opportunities within the field.
The graduate level program, Doctor of Sports Management, is intended to provide advanced study for academic growth and development in the management of sport-related fields of interest. This objective is accomplished by building on a foundation of core courses from undergraduate study, emphasizing the physical performance of the discipline and applying the foundational theory to the practical application in the industry of sports.
Instruction is offered at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including Doctoral programs. The undergraduate program leads to a Bachelor of Science degree, with concentrations on a variety of sports related emphases. Coursework is available for students who wish to concentrate on Sports Management, Marketing and Recreation Management; Sports Coaching, Fitness and Health; Sports Multimedia; and Golf Management; at both the degree and certificate level. Programs emphasize theoretical and practical objectives in each area.
Certificate programs are comprised of the program-specific courses that make up each discipline. The following certificate programs require completion of 18 semester units.
